Cape Verdefs Agricultural and Industrial Struggles

Cape Verde is considered as a developing country, and is included on the list of the United Nations small islands developing states. The most widespread agricultural activity in Cape Verde is gardening for domestic consumption. Garden crops include corn, sweet potatoes, bananas, and cassava. Currently, bananas are the only exported crop of the country. The agriculture has been affected by an unequal land system, overpopulation of cultivatable land, and excessive subdivision of plots. Water has been the major factor in producing their goods that result to frustration in progress. Fishing (lobster and tuna fishing) accounted for only 2 percent of GDP in 1998and is an important source of foreign currency. In the long term they expand its fishing industry. This expansion causes a big impact on their economic growth. Cape Verde may have struggled a lot on their way to top, but they have shown on how a country must work to achieve certain achievement. The small amount of progress on their status is a good result of their hard work and teamwork.
